Looking for the best Android device for your own needs can often be a little difficult. There are dozens of brands, each with their own unique software features, hardware, and price tags, and because of this, it can often make you feel a little lost when trying to find the perfect Android.
Price aside, if you’re looking for the absolutely best experience you could ever get right now, then look below to see what we’ve listed as what could possibly be the best Android phones and tablets for the new year.
Tablets
Tablets offer a different approach to the android operating system. They give you a bigger space to watch movies, play games and view media on. Typically you want to find a tablet with the best screen quality, and as well as any software features that may make your tablet a little more intuitive to use.
Galaxy Tab 10.1 2014 Edition(GET IT HERE)
Possibly the first device ever to have ‘2014’ in it’s name, so that’s got to be a plus. It’s also a pretty amazing android tablet too. As the name suggests, the Galaxy Tab 10.1 has a 10.1 inch display, which is at an amazing 2560×1600 resolution, which actually makes it prettier than the Apple iPad Air.
On top of this, it has a powerful Snapdragon 800 processor, 3GB of RAM, and a huge ton of software features that make use of the extra space. For example, you can use ‘multi window’ to have two different applications open at the same time on the large 10.1 inch display, or use the area as a drawing canvas by using the included S Pen stylus that also comes packed with software functionality.
Albeit the price, this is definitely the best android tablet out there right now.
Smartphones
Finding a great android smartphone can sometimes be a little harder than finding a tablet. There are so many different brands fighting for top spot, and they all offer a slightly different piece of the android pie. To get the most out of your money, keep in mind that the best devices have LTE 4G connectivity, NFC, software suites, decent WiFi, a large HD display, and a decent enough processor to deal with all of the everyday tasks you’ll be performing on it.
LG G2
This is a pretty hard choice to make, but we think the amazing android smartphone award at this point in time belongs to the LG G2. This is a device that has very decent hardware, software features to rival the Samsung Galaxy range, and a price tag that is pretty close to the Nexus 5.
The LG G2 is powered by a 2.3GHz quad core Snapdragon 800 processor, and 3GB of RAM which is the best you’ll get at this point in time in an android device. It also has a pretty 5.2 inch display with a resolution of 1080×1920, which is full HD in simpler terms.
The button placement is a bit odd on the LG G2; it is on the back of the device, but once you have gotten used to it, it feels quite natural to press the on/off button on the back to turn the device on and off, and the shutter buttons to take pictures and turn the volume up and down.
If you aren’t comfortable with using this for turning the device on and off, and awesome software feature on the LG G2 allows you to turn the screen off or on just by doubling tapping it.
It doesn’t have a software suite as fully featured as a Galaxy device, but it is pretty close, and at half the price of the similarly sized Galaxy Note 3, it is in our opinion the best android handset out at this point.
